Noah says people are working less and getting more. Yes a direct result of a WALL STREET controlled system, and the fact that most of the average Schmos are carrying debt to afford it that lifestyle. Big companies use more part time low wage labor labor so they do not have to pay the workers a living wage. Then the workers go on the public welfare office to cover the rest of their living costs(Food, Housing, medical etc...) At the same time the TOP 1% are lowering their own taxes and increasing the 99% taxes to cover the costs, lower their wage costs and increase the ever growing profit margins for a select few. DUMPING the costs of the low wage workers and all the free loaders on the working Middle class.
Noah isn't looking at the whole picture. Because we DO work more hours, many 2 person households are holding down 4 jobs. People making $100,000 (in the Seattle area) are struggling. Do they have stuff? Yeah, but it's cheaply made. You paid less in 1950 dollars for your appliances and yet, they lasted so long you could pass them down to your kids. Furniture lasted multiple generations. Now we spend $500 on a recliner that falls apart in 6 months. I think Noah should come out here in the real world for a bit. Try on that checkout clerk's lifestyle for real...live it for 6 months and then come back and tell us how great it is.
I have relatives in Canada. One had breast cancer twice, and the first time got chemo and a double mastectomy and she survived, but she got it a second time and she was part of a clinical trial and they saved her life. She’s been cancer three for about 10 years. Her husband had something wrong with his ankle and he had surgery. His eye lives have droop, and he recently had what is essentially cosmetic surgery because his eyelids were affecting his vision. I lived in Canada when I had my son. From the day of my first doctor appointment to the time I left the hospital with my son It cost me a total of $90. Now that was 1975, but in comparison, at the same time, my dog had to have a cesarean section because a puppy had died inside of her and that cost me $240. I don’t hear any of my Canadian relatives complaining about their healthcare prices or access to healthcare. So I think it is easy to say that they have bad healthcare, but it’s not borne out in actuality. At least not for the people I know.

As a Jewish family living in Miami Beach on Sunday morning we would eat Appetizing as we called it. This was smoked fish, bagels and cream cheese, but there were many extras to be had, like smoked whitefish, smoked butterfish, char, sable, lake trout, sturgeon, herring, creamed herring, herring in wine sauce, and two types of cured, cold smoked salmon, nova, which wasn't salty, and lox which was very salty, plain cream cheese, chive cream cheese, hard cheeses like American, Swiss, muenster cheese, sweet muenster cheese, salami, bologna, liverwurst, tongue, corned beef, and pastrami.
There were plain bagels. onion, poppy, sesame seed and cinnamon, two types of rye breads, plain and seeded, egg rolls, kaiser rolls, bialys. knishes, franks, etc, etc, etc, and then the fattest over filled jelly donuts, rainbow cookies, black and whites, etc, etc, etc.
My parents had 7 children, 4 boys and 3 girls, and some were over 18 and a couple had husbands, so the tribe to feed was enormous. On Sunday morning everyone was there to eat (feast). My dad spent about $50.00 and today this would be like at least $300.00
