Signed petition. Saying Bernie takes $0 from AIPAC should read $0 from Pro-Israel donors. AIPAC is splintering into groups meant to fool the citizen. For example, the United Democracy Project (UDP) is a super PAC affiliated with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). So an elected official can now claim $0 from AIPAC and be a zionist / pro-Israel in disguise.
We need to be one step in front of them. "Do you accept assistance from any Pro-Israel or related entity?". Notice I didn't say money because they can assist in other ways, not even directly. Don't use PAC or other term they can fudge- any entity? Lawyers/others can do better but we need to frame this properly.
Maybe "Do you accept any assistance from any entity? If yes, who are they?" This way it covers all organizations - we need to know who funds and assists them.
If people are wedded to the idea of the first black speaker (wouldn’t that be a thumb in the eye for this racist regime,) why not consider Ayana Presley?
My Senator IS Chuck Schumer. I'll be calling and telling him not to run for minority leader, and telling Gillibrand not to vote for him - for all the good that will do. 🙄
I'd like to also point out to Sen Schumer that here in NY-10, we sent his mini-me Rep. Dan Goldman packing in a nasty primary against new Congressman-elect Brad Lander.
It is time for a Civil War in the DNC. Now is the time. I don't care an iota about Schumer's career and Jefferies' legacy. Not one single bit. Not right now. Talk about it *after* authoritarianism is cleansed from this country...and that has not yet happened. Fight now. Rip it up. Hardly anyone wants establishment/legacy leadership. Their time is over. I don't care if it "looks bad." Do it now. The results will change generations.
Respectfully disagree. It most certainly IS progressives versus conservatives. Conservatives (in both parties) do not agree that average people have a right to healthcare, education, jobs and food for our families. There is so much overwhelming evidence to support this fact that you could see it from the moon.
We live in a two-party system. So that alternative was also a party people aren’t sure they trust: the Democratic Party.
YES!! But there is a solution to that very important problem. It's not a quick solution, it will take time, but that is all the more reason to get started with it:
Also, tell them you want the Senate leadership vote to be a transparent process. Tell them to make a statement and say who they would like to see as a leader. Because if it's a secret vote, and Schumer is coronated, we need to know who to hold accountable for that. And we need to reward the representatives who listened to us and voted against Schumer.
I did it, I hate phone calls but called Maxine Dexter, Jeff Merkley and Ron Wyden. Thanks for the direct instruction. I used Claude to help me structure the message correctly, I never know how to do these calls but a script helped.
I called my representative (Mannion from NY) last week and was able to leave a message. I tried calling the switchboard today, was redirected to his office, and heard an automatic message that the number was not available. When I tried calling his office directly, I heard the same automatic message again.
A group of organized and dedicated constituents in 2018 succeeded in persuading of Member of Congress (MOC) to sign on as a co-sponsor of the Medicare for All (M4A) bill in the House. Being a co-sponsor is a solemn commitment to be a knowledgeable ambassador of the bill to one's colleagues. He remains a co-sponsor of that bill to this day. Our group was then asked to join the effort to persuade Hakeerm Jeffries to become a co-sponsor of the bill. Jeffries eventually relented, became a co-sponsor, then removed his name from the list at his first opportunity. Nothing in the language of the bill had changed but Jeffries' political position had. This brings Jeffries' integrity into question and whether he would advance the Medicare at 55 bill introduced last week by the authors of the M4A bill, Pramila Jayapal and Debbie Dingell. There are Re[ublicans who would be on board with this bill. President Trump has said he believes the health insurance industry's vertical intergration with the healthcare aparatus isn't healthy. The is bill is a strategic opportunity to continue the Bllue Wave momentum into 2028 but I believe in my heart that Hakeem Jeffries is not ready for this historical moment. Please call the House and Senate switchboard at (202) 224-3121, ask to speak to your MOC, and urge them to help identify and recruit a candidate for Speaker who can be trusted to advance the inflation-fighting, corruption-fighting mandate that won the day on November 3rd.
Some Democrat has to run against them and no one has said they will.
I wish my Senator chris Van Hollen would run for it
Which is why we must push them. If your representative is over if the fighters we need, tell them you want them to put their hat in the ring.
I like AOC for Schumer's seat.
She is not a Senator.
I meant she should run for his seat - or just threaten to. Sorry if that was unclear!

Here you go: https://www.opensecrets.org/
Thanks! That is great but we should also ask the politician the question so they are on the record.

Ayanna Presley! Black women lead the last election.

How about Ro Khanna?
How about Senator Slotkin?

Heads-up, Senators. We're coming for you next.

2026 is a Tea Party moment.
Okay, maybe “herbal tea party” movement 🍀✌️-
…but still it's populist in nature and a repudiation of party elites - the workers versus the 1%
It's NOT progressive versus conservatives,
It's NOT endless culture wars .
It's just the right (existentiallly) of average people to get healthcare, education, jobs and food for our families

What can we do if our sitting Senators and Rep are Republican?
My rep is Burchett. He long ago showed he doesn’t care what I think. Marsha or Bill either for that matter.
