The power to change an entrenched system isn't won in one election. It's easy to think election night is the end of the campaign. But it's not. It's the beginning of the campaign for change.
Great call to action and clear explanation of whet lies ahead to make good on Mamdani’s victory!! Could this be the start of the Coffee Party? Alice Slater
You are the voice of a movement that could change the stalemate of our government and bring about a wonderful outcome for the people who desperately need help. Thank you for your inspiration.
Ideas and forward thinking brought us America. We have stagnated and are walking backwards. We need new ideas and forward thinking to lead us out of this mess. All in with Corbin. It's past time.
Corbin, I ran for Congress in CA District 1 in the last cycle, challenging the Republican incumbent in a deep red MAGA district with a campaign that centered on universal healthcare, workers' rights, and fighting billionaire control of our politics and economy. With Prop 50 passing in California, my county has now been redistricted with a Democrat incumbent who had voted for the Israel Supplemental Appropriations bill together with the MAGA Republican incumbent in my current district. Further, this Dem rep does not advocate for universal healthcare. I have been asked to primary him. It would be an enormous boost to candidates like myself to have your help as well as those of independent media by highlighting our campaigns and letting Americans know that there are candidates like Mamdani in all corners of America who are stepping up to represent the broad swath of Americans and fight for their interests. My campaign website is https://roseforcongress.com. Thank you!
Corbin Trent, thank you very much. I’ve copied this to my 35 friends in the Guilford, CT Peace Vigil. We meet on our green every Saturday from 11 to 12. Thank you for pointing out our failure to follow up on AOC’s victory, and the lesson for Mamdani’s. True, all.
Dems should now show they can all support & operate under a big tent. Our states, cities & towns are all different with unique needs. Work together & explore new ways to address these! Time to put away the egos & come to grip on how best to serve the people.
100% as usual, Corbin! And, if the transition team Mamdani is building says anything, it’s that he’s on it! He’s created the blueprint other sincere fighters can follow to restore a party that has been sick for fifty years. I love your 🧠!
Capitalism is the terminal cancer inside any notion of real democracy. Corbin is trying to get out of the black box of long-standing human stagnation, but he needs our vigorous input and support. Capitalism is a death wish, period. Humans cannot, and never could, operate a society of creatures whose main objective has always been to take, take, take, never give back equally in real time, and get sucked into this fiasco of win, win win. All of it an illusion that the D brand establishment is entrenched inside, and cannot get out due to the huge investments they have made in Power and Wealth and Consumption.
It is impossible to end an Ego Trip when you are an addict to illusions. We are and have been teetering on the brink of collapse for a decade or more, and only now are we beginning to see what that looks and feels like, and the maga juggernaut is full throttle to make sure it all goes down the tubes, and carpetbagging is the only game left to play until the house burns down.
This is the comment I added in sharing this on all my social medias and friends:
"Winning is only the beginning. Corbin Trent explains what stalled AOC after she was elected and how others can avoid that establishment trap of being contained by big money."
The real test will be bread and butter, kitchen table economics. Will the average citizen of NYC be able to afford living life or will their net income shrink?
On the congressional level, the litmus test should be support for HJR-54, the legislation for a constitutional amendment to eliminate the twin concepts of corporate personhood and money as speech. That way, we can overrule mendacious, extensive SCOTUS corporate-friendly precedents, including Citizens United.
Primary the hell out of anyone not willing to co-sponsor.
For centuries, money/land/real estate/commodity production and control has been in the hands of a very few. Look at 'murka right now - entrenched in the largest wealth gap EVER seen. A few tweaks are a small start, like you state, but that is the tip of the iceberg. The huge corporations must be brought down, become citizen owned and non-profit, and re-engineered to do 90 percent differently and ecologically, or just turned off, period. There is a propaganda wave surfacing Right Now to downplay the climate catastrophe as just a delusion, and maga just put Steve Pearce from NM in as BLM stooge in chief. You think there is a tidal wave now? Wait another six months, and there will not be a cubic yard of clean air or water left above ground, and the fracking pollutants will be eating out our guts. Do not be deceived or placated - listen to the outgoing UN chief. We are out of time and have not even begun to plan for a way to survive long enough to reverse the catastrophe we have egregiously been addicted to for centuries.
No question. I’m under no illusion that elections, by themselves, matter. We need the pitchforks to make the politicians fear the people more than their donors. We need to take the wealth from the 1% until billionaires cease to exist. We’re probably screwed, but no reason not to enjoy the fight ahead.
IMO there are no other options. The planet and all biotic societies have hit too many tipping points already, and the cascade has begun. Human behavior has only degenerated in 4k years. Could it substantively change? Perhaps, but I am not optimistic. We need clearly defined realism, which we will never get from MSM or social media. Lies are rampant, theft is rampant, violence is rampant. Leadership is nothing and never has been much good to anyone but the few. FDR was strongly influenced by Wallace or he would not have been nearly so revolutionary. Debbs ran for prez from jail. Now, 90 percent of citizens are in a jail of malaise. Cooperation, not competition, is our only way out of this, if that is even possible. Tick tock.

If coffee is involved I'm in.
Well, if you read the Collapse Chronicles on Substack, you will know the continuing existence of coffee is threatened.

Thank you, Corbin, for challenging the Democratic powers that be, those that give lip service to the ideals that once gave the party their mojo!
Dems should now show they can all support & operate under a big tent. Our states, cities & towns are all different with unique needs. Work together & explore new ways to address these! Time to put away the egos & come to grip on how best to serve the people.
GO FOR IT!!!

We should stop saying Democratic Socialism and call it Democratic Capitalism.
"The Democratic establishment is already moving to contain him. Obama is reaching out. Bill Ackman is extending olive branches. "
Yep, trying to get their man in the room to impede progress. Water things down. Go slow.

Are you familiar the work of resistance historian Tad Stoermer?
100% Corbin, let's do this.

This is the article I've been dying to read.
