Part 2 of my political fiction series shows how it actually happened: the leaders, the money, and the message all moving in the same direction for the first time.
After the first paragraph, thinking this is real, I was ready to double my monthly contributions to Justice Democrats and Our Revolution.
After part 1, I called the offices of Bernie, Warren, AOC and Cesar, and told them to work together to build a coordinated movement, referenced Corbin Trent, and told them to stop telling us to run when they have the donor lists, the campaign war chests and the support staff.
What if all those you mention made the We The People amendment, HJR-54, eliminating corporate personhood and the concept of money as speech, a centerpiece of the campaigns, and platform? As long as you say you want candidates who put working people ahead of corporate donors, why not have simple declaration of actual intent that they mean what they ‘promise’? Explain to voters that it’s the key to the building process we all desire, with the side effect that it will help grow the movement and keep it engaged until, and past, passage.
I’ve been waiting for this since the DNC decided it was Hillary’s turn in ‘16 and screwed Bernie. Many of my Bernieites wrote him off as a sellout after he chose to campaign for Hillary. I didn’t. I’ve always known a Bernie comes along once in a lifetime. Now he has all of the best getting ready to lead the Revolution!!!!!!!! Wonder if he can get Stephen to run in SC and unseat Lady Bug Lindsey. The country is sooooooooooo ready. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/r4S94OipKVQ
Corbin, This is good Aaron Sorkin-level scripting. I suggest you pitch this to run in the New Yorker in installments. They may want you to flesh out each scene a bit so it reads more like a Sorkin movie. Go with it. Okay to contact me for volunteer comments and editing. HealingToolbox attttg male c-o=m
I’m in. But you have to lead the leaders. Are you prepared to do that? If so, how can I help? I’m a pretty good organizer and not bad fundraiser. I’m also a turnaround specialist in my day job.
I've given this a shoutout in my Substack, Now What?, that's looking for what we-the-people can do now:
"If I ran the world, what Corbin has been posting would be required reading. There’s objective reporting and there’s perceptive reporting, and his perceptions ring my bells. I strongly urge you to check out this recent post where you can catch up on a particularly insightful series of his posts about where to from here, and you can sign up for what’s to come."
Wow! I'm moved to tears, the tears I have been holding back as I looked with despair at the legacy we are leaving for our children . . . and the whole world. Such a hopeful vision and so persuasively argued. I will be sharing this everywhere I can and especially sending it to all the prospective leaders you call out.

If only this was real!
What a wonderful legacy that would be for both Bernie and Elizabeth Warren.
This is the way!
Who is getting this in front of of their eyes? This is the most Hope I’ve felt in months, and I know it’s fiction. BUT…yes, please!?!

I am sending this article to Ezra Levin and Leah Greenberg. I’d like to see Indivisible support this plan.
Do people like this still exist in American politics?
People with ethics, beliefs, and the wherewithal to actually do what is right for the country?
People who can turn away sugar daddy donor money and say fuck the billionaires, fuck Israel, fuck big oil, fuck big pharma, fuck the NRA, etc?
People who want a government not a political grift system?
Yes! I mention them by name.

I wish.
This is every progressive's unspoken dream. Thanks for putting it into words!

Seriously, can we do this?
Made me tear up with hope and joy. Finally. Can't wait for Part 3. Then we need to make itc happen...for real!

Getting serious about saving ourselves
A fundamental realization we need

Seems to me David Hogg would be a strong ally for such a program.
